Italy Day 1

Our youngest Italian sister Sara got Married on October 1 and asked Chris' parents, and us, to come to Italy to be a part of her wedding.  How could we turn down the opportunity to see our littlest sister get married?!?

So we traveled with Chris' parents all the way over to Italy a few days before the wedding.  We had such an incredible time!!  It had been 16 years since we were last there.  It was so nice to be with our Italian family again in their home.  We were blessed to be with them last year when we went to Sonia's wedding in Rhode Island.

We took tons of pictures.  So I will be breaking them down into daily posts so we can share some of the fun stories that goes a long with them.

Here we go:

Pig was ready to travel!  Along with Jimmy and Anne.

A view of the Alps from our window seat.  We'll be down there soon!

We made it!  This is the view from our hotel balcony.  The yellow and white building on the left is the town library.

This is the view from our room from the other direction.  The tall clock tower is next to the church.  And the clock chimes on the hour, every hour.  All.night.long.  It's a good thing I had earplugs with me.

Enjoing the warm weather on the porch of our hotel.  Chris and his dad are with Stefano (our Italian brother) and Patrick (our American brother-in-law - he's married to Sonia).

That night we went to a nearby town and did a little shopping.  Don't you just love the streets?!?

We stopped at a cafe to have a coffee.  Chris and his Dad got hot chocolate.  They quickly discovered that in Italy hot chocolate has a pudding consistency and you're supposed to dip biscoti into it, not drink it.  Chris drank his.  It was pretty yummy, just super thick.

We managed to find a little dessert while we were there too.

That's most of day one.  I'll post more about day two soon!
