I decided to change that. We keep up with so many of you via email and facebook, but I wanted to fire up the blog again so we can continue sharing with you what's going on with our life in Nashvegas.

Thank you all for the support you gave Chris as he traveled with the Gideon team to Ecuador this past January. It really was a fabulous trip and they were able to minister to so many people there.
One of Chris' favorite things since the trip has been his continued communication between the other team members and with some of the amazing people he met in Ecuador. We continue to see how God is working in that area.

Many of you know that Chris has been plagued with migraines and cluster headaches since May of last year. That's a long, long time.
This is a sample of the amount of medication he takes. this is just his lunch dose! He's currently taking 20 pills a day. Every day. Thank goodness for a decent insurance plan.
Thankfully he has recently seen a decrease in the pain level of his headaches. When the process started of seeing neurologists last year his pain levels were between 7-9 every day. They are now between 1-3 each day. That's great news!
A lot of the reduction in the pain levels has been from acupuncture. I know you're thinking, what?!? As many of you know, Chris has a HUGE fear of needles. The first time I mentioned acupuncture to him he shuddered and said no thanks.
But as time went on, and the headaches continued, he changed his mind. Thanks to a friend we were able to find a great acupuncture facility here in town.
When he started noticing the benefits of going each week, we decided to increase his appointments to twice a week. And you know what? He's feeling better!
He goes back to his awesome doctor next week and we're hoping we can start lowering some of the dosage levels of the medication he's on.
There are still lots of rough days for him and still lots of symptoms, but we're thankful the pain levels have gone down some.
And my public service announcement to you in behalf of all migraine sufferers:
please don't wear smelly fragrances!!!!!
Sorry for that, but fragrances are a *huge* migraine and headache trigger for him and so many others. This continues to be a struggle for him at work and at church because so many people wear really strong perfumes and fragrances. I've completely given up smelly lotions, candles, and anything scented in the house.

I promise to be more faithful in blogging here. My goal is once a week. Let's hope I can keep that up.
I'm looking forward to keeping you in the loop on our life here!

so glad that he is finding some relief! It's amazing what can be done without pills. Hope that he continues to see improvement with acupuncture, and can back off some of the pills! As a migraine suffer... I second that! NO Smelly stuff! Trav had to change his cologne, and even now only wares it on special occasions, not every day, but I have to approve all his body wash, and stuff that I will come in contact with on my migraine days.
Amen about the perfume!! They put way to much fragrance in just about everything these days.
I second the fragrance thing! Glad he's doing better, and praying for his continued path of less pain, and for you too.
