friday five

happy friday everyone! i decided to do something a little different for today's friday.five. i saw this on another website and decided to use it for today.

i am going to list (and show) five out of the ordinary things i've done since last friday. not just the usual ho hum, but something different.

1. i was able to sing happy birthday to my mom in person!

2. i had delicious peach crepes from our favorite pancake place, the pancake.pantry

3. we took the "long way" through the national forest this weekend on our trip. i followed ike on a dirt trail and got to see a fantastic view of the mountains.

4. i forgot to get dog food for marty, so he got a bowl of dog biscuits for breakfast. he was very happy about it!

5. i reserved a cottage in north.carolina to have a girls weekend with some of my bestest buddies! i can't wait to see them next week!

happy friday! don't forget to share what five things you've done since last friday!

perfect moment monday

perfect moment monday ...on a tuesday.

yes, i know today isn't monday, but it feels like it. doesn't it?!?

this past weekend we spent some time with mom and chris' parents in gatlinburg.tn. now that we live in flat, flat tennessee, we miss our mountains!

that is one reason we love going to gatlinburg. it's only a few hours away and then i'm completely surround by the mountains. when i'm in the mountains i feel so at peace.

with that said, here is my perfect moment monday on a tuesday.

in a flash

Most of you reading this know that my brother works at River Valley Ranch. He and his family also live there.

This past Friday they had severe flash flooding at the camp (aka RVR). Fortunately Doug's house did not receive any damage. RVR was not so fortunate.

Below is a video of the flood that also includes the damage that came after.

RVR does not have flood insurance. So far the estimated damage is estimated at well over $100,000. Since they are a non-profit ministry they are in need of donations. Even $1 or $5 will help. My purpose isn't to ask you for money, but for your prayers and support as they rebuild from this.

If you want to help in any way, please click here to go to their website to get more information.
